Ryan Fitzpatrick performs table stunt at Highmark Stadium debut

Former NFL quarterback and current Amazon ‘Thursday Night Football’ analyst Ryan Fitzpatrick performed a wrestling-style stunt during the inaugural game at the new $2.2 billion Highmark Stadium. During the matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions, Fitzpatrick jumped from a platform and performed an elbow drop through a table, a gesture reminiscent of the ‘Bills Mafia’ fan culture.

The Buffalo Bills won the game 41-31. While the stunt was well-received by the stadium crowd, it drew criticism from FOX Sports commentator Nick Wright. On the program ‘First Things First’, Wright questioned Fitzpatrick’s rebranding from a ‘Harvard smart’ quarterback to a charismatic personality, stating, ‘We don’t need to promote this guy. It’s enough.’
