Ryan Fox wins The Open, celebrates with family and All Blacks in New Zealand
New Zealander Ryan Fox shot a record‑equalling 62 at Royal Birkdale on the third day of The Open and went on to win the championship, finishing 10 under par – the first New Zealand major champion since 1963.
After the victory he flew home, where thousands gathered in Auckland. He presented the Claret Jug to the All Blacks, shared drinks from the trophy with his family, and his eight‑year‑old nephew sipped water from it. The celebration highlighted his father Grant Fox’s rugby legacy and drew widespread public enthusiasm.
