Ryan Garcia rules out MMA interest ahead of Conor Benn fight

Boxer Ryan Garcia has reportedly ruled out pursuing Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) following a grappling session where he was submitted. During an appearance on the Suguru Show, former UFC champion Sean O’Malley discussed Garcia’s experience, noting that the boxer was taken down and choked out by a non-elite grappler.

In separate news, Garcia is preparing for his first career world title defense against Conor Benn, scheduled for September 12. Three-division world champion James Toney, after observing Garcia’s training, predicted that Garcia will secure a knockout victory within five rounds. Benn currently serves as Garcia’s mandatory challenger, though he has not competed at the welterweight limit since April 2022.
