Ryan Gold under investigation for alleged NFL gambling violations
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is investigating former Arizona Cardinals scout Ryan Gold following his suspension by the NFL for alleged gambling violations. The investigation follows a prior inquiry opened by the Arizona Department of Gaming in July.
The NFL suspended Gold, a 13-year front office veteran, after determining he provided confidential, non-public information regarding the Cardinals’ 2026 draft selections before they were officially announced. Additionally, the league alleged that Gold participated in parlay bets on NFL and college games.
While the NFL stated there is no reason to believe the integrity of any game was affected, the league maintains that its policy strictly prohibits personnel from facilitating sports gambling or providing third parties with non-public information. Gold’s attorney, Mike Caspino, has denied the claims, stating there is ‘absolutely zero substance’ to the allegations and noting that a hearing for Gold's appeal is scheduled for September 23.
