Ryan Gosling and Shawn Levy to collaborate on MCU Ghost Rider

Actor Ryan Gosling reportedly convinced director Shawn Levy to helm the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Ghost Rider film in just six minutes. According to Levy, the pitch occurred while the two were collaborating on a different project, providing a clear creative direction that led them to present the idea to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

This project marks Gosling’s first leading role within the MCU. The duo previously worked together on ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’, where Gosling serves as both an actor and executive producer. Levy described Gosling as a vital creative partner and a “great muse” who helps shape the direction of their projects.

Levy, who previously directed ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, will bring his experience with the Marvel franchise to this supernatural project. Marvel Studios has officially announced the film, which is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on July 28, 2028.
