Ryan Gosling, Johnny Depp not pictured together in AI hoax at Comic-Con

Eva Mendes publicly challenged an Instagram account for posting an AI‑generated image that appeared to show her partner Ryan Gosling alongside Johnny Depp and a fictional figure called Slopaxo at the San Diego Comic‑Con on July 26. Mendes labeled the picture “FAKE” and urged the creator to disclose the use of artificial intelligence. The account apologized, added a disclaimer, and said it would be clearer about AI content. Both actors did attend the convention, but separately: Depp appeared in character as Ebenezer Scrooge to promote a forthcoming Christmas film, while Gosling made a surprise appearance at Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel, where his lead role in a new Ghost Rider movie slated for release in 2028 was announced.
