Ryan Gravenberch may play right-back for Liverpool against Brighton

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is considering using midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in an unfamiliar role at right-back for the upcoming Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion. The Dutch international's versatility is expected to be crucial as the club manages a wave of injuries and a dense fixture schedule.

Iraola noted that while Gravenberch is most effective as a number 8, he has experience playing as a number 6, a number 10, and even in central defense. The tactical shift could allow Gravenberch to move into central areas during possession to create numerical advantages, rather than acting as a traditional overlapping full-back.

Liverpool is currently dealing with the absence of players such as Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley, and Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to remain sidelined for the Brighton fixture despite being close to a return. The manager emphasized the need for rotation due to the team playing matches every three to four days.
