Ryan Hemsworth announces new album Numbskull

Canadian producer and DJ Ryan Hemsworth has announced his upcoming album, Numbskull, which is scheduled for release on October 21 via Topshelf Records. This marks his first full-length project since 2018.

In preparation for the release, Hemsworth has debuted two new singles: ‘One Step’ and ‘A Display of Emotion’. ‘One Step’ incorporates hip-hop influences and electro-clash textures, featuring a collaboration with Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties. ‘A Display of Emotion’ leans into a more melancholic, electro-pop sound driven by guitar and bass.

The new album is expected to reflect a return to guitar-based music, blending Hemsworth’s signature breakbeat dance style with rock influences. The project includes the track ‘Never Learned’, a pop-punk song featuring Tegan and Sara.
