Ryan Miller joins Colorado Avalanche alumni game

Former NHL goaltender and current San Jose Sharks goaltending development coach Ryan Miller participated in a Colorado Avalanche alumni game against DU Hockey alumni. Despite never having played for the Avalanche during his 18-season career, Miller suited up as the goalie for the Colorado team.

Miller addressed the unexpected appearance on social media, explaining that he accepted an invitation from a long-time acquaintance from his Michigan State hockey days. He jokingly noted that the incentive for participating was an offer of golf with interesting people, stating, “I can be bought. Just make it interesting.”

Separately, Colorado Avalanche General Manager Joe Sakic expressed confidence regarding contract negotiations with defenseman Cale Makar. As Makar enters the final year of his current deal, Sakic indicated that dialogue remains positive and expressed hope that an extension would be finalized before the start of training camp.
