Ryan Murphy confirms Glee reboot script is written

Ryan Murphy has confirmed that a script for a new incarnation of the musical comedy-drama Glee has been written. Murphy collaborated with original creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan to develop the material.

Murphy reported that he has been in contact with approximately ten members of the original cast, describing their response to the idea as enthusiastic. While the cast members have not yet read the script, Murphy noted that he intends to write more material to gauge interest before deciding whether to officially move the project forward.

The original series, which aired from 2009 to 2015, followed the members of the New Directions choir at William McKinley High School. Former cast member Lea Michele has previously expressed her willingness to return to the series.
