Ryan Murphy's 'The Shards' to debut on FX and Hulu Aug. 5

Ryan Murphy’s new series "The Shards," adapted from Bret Easton Ellis’s 2023 novel, is scheduled to premiere on August 5. The drama will air on FX and stream on Hulu in the United States, with Disney+ carrying it internationally.

The 1980s‑Los Angeles‑set thriller follows a group of privileged high‑school seniors whose lives unravel after the arrival of a magnetic new student and the emergence of a serial killer known as the Trawler. The cast includes Igby Rigney as Bret, Homer Gere as Robert Mallory, Kaia Gerber, Hayes Warner, and Graham Campbell, with Wes Bentley, Evan Rachel Wood and Jordan Roth in adult roles. Production is handled by 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television, with multiple executive producers attached.
