Ryan Murphy's thriller series “The Shards” launches on Disney+

Ryan Murphy serves as executive producer on “The Shards,” a new FX drama adapted from Bret Easton Ellis’s bestselling novel. Set in 1980s Los Angeles, the series follows a group of privileged high‑school seniors as they confront identity, jealousy and a serial killer known as the Fisherman. The cast includes Igby Rigney as Bret, Kaia Gerber, Homer Gere, Hayes Warner, Graham Campbell, Evan Rachel Wood, Wes Bentley and Jordan Roth.

“The Shards” debuts globally on Disney+ on Thursday, 6 August, with the first two episodes released simultaneously. Produced by FX and 20th Television, the show is part of Murphy’s ongoing partnership with 20th Television and features extensive parental‑control options on the streaming platform. It is being promoted in Spain, Italy and other markets ahead of its worldwide release.
