Ryan Naderi makes Czechia international debut in Nations League loss to Spain

Glasgow Rangers forward Ryan Naderi made his international debut for the Czechia national team during a Nations League match against Spain in Oviedo. Despite the debut, Czechia suffered a 3-1 defeat.

Naderi, 23, entered the game in the second half to replace Lukas Ambros. He nearly scored a historic goal for a Rangers player in the Nations League after capitalizing on a mistake by Spanish goalkeeper David Raya. However, the goal was disallowed by referee Vasilis Fotias, who ruled that a foul had occurred on defender Robin Le Normand during the buildup.

Naderi, who was contacted by national team general manager Pavel Nedvěd in August, expressed that the experience felt like a dream and described the match as the largest of his career. He noted the supportive atmosphere within the Czech squad following his recent administrative clearance to represent the country.
