Ryan Naderi scores winner for Rangers in Conference League play-off
Rangers striker Ryan Naderi scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory against FK Jablonec at Ibrox, providing the Scottish side with a narrow advantage in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off. This win follows a recent 5-1 victory over St Mirren, marking two consecutive wins for the team.
Naderi, a German forward, revealed a personal connection to the upcoming second leg in the Czech Republic, noting that his mother is from the country and his grandmother still resides there. He also mentioned that he spent time in the Czech Republic during his school years and is capable of speaking the language. Due to these ties, he is also eligible to represent the Czech national team.
Despite his recent scoring form, Naderi emphasized that the responsibility for goal-scoring must be shared across the squad. He highlighted the team's offensive challenges following a significant injury to forward Youssef Chermiti, who is expected to be sidelined for six to nine months due to a cruciate ligament injury. The injury occurred shortly after Rangers rejected a transfer bid for Chermiti from Galatasaray.
