Ryan Preece adopts aggressive strategy for NASCAR playoff hopes

RFK Racing driver Ryan Preece has announced an aggressive strategy to secure a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. Currently sitting 17th in the standings, Preece trails Shane van Gisbergen by 50 points for the final Chase position.

Preece intends to shift from defensive racing to an all-out offensive approach, particularly targeting the regular-season finale at Daytona International Speedway. He noted that the current points system allows for significant swings, where a driver can maximize points through a race win and stage points while a competitor suffers a poor finish.

“I’m not points racing, right? I’m not trying to stay above the cut line. I’m gonna go for every stage point there is. I’m gonna try and win the race. I’m gonna be aggressive,” Preece stated, adding that his goal is to force other drivers into a defensive posture.
