Ryan Preece fights for NASCAR playoff spot at Daytona

Ryan Preece, driving for RFK Racing, is facing a critical situation in his pursuit of a NASCAR Cup Series playoff berth. Currently trailing Shane Van Gisbergen by 50 points for the final Chase position, Preece's efforts are further complicated by a 25-point penalty resulting from an incident with Ty Gibbs in Texas.

Following a ninth-place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Preece heads to Daytona for the regular-season finale with a more aggressive mindset. Reflecting on a disappointing finish at the superspeedway last year, Preece stated that he is prepared to be more assertive, noting, “I'm probably going to be a little more aggressive on blocks... if I have to, throw a big block.”

The upcoming race presents unique challenges due to new superspeedway packages and limited practice time, requiring drivers to adapt during the event. Preece aims to secure significant stage points and a strong finish to close the gap and potentially clinch his first career playoff spot.
