Ryan Reynolds stars in Apple TV opening for Mayday

Apple TV has released the opening scene for the film ‘Mayday’, starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh. The sequence introduces Lieutenant Troy ‘Assassin’ Kelly during a top-secret Cold War mission.

The plot follows Kelly as his SR-71 Blackbird mission goes wrong, resulting in a crash landing in a snowy, hostile wilderness within Soviet territory. Following the crash, the character encounters Nikolai Ustinov, a former KGB agent played by Branagh who possesses a strong interest in American culture.

Directed, written, and produced by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein for Apple Original Films, the movie is described as a blend of Cold War action and buddy-comedy. The cast also features Maria Bakalova, Marcin Dorociński, and David Morse.
