Ryan Wood suffers 42G crash during Bathurst 1000 practice

Practice sessions for the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama were disrupted by two significant crashes on Friday. Ryan Wood, driving the #2 Walkinshaw TWG Racing Toyota Supra, suffered a severe 42G impact at Forrest’s Elbow after clipping the inside concrete wall. While Wood was able to exit the vehicle unaided, the car sustained heavy front-right damage, likely preventing the team from participating in qualifying.

Later in the session, Tony D’Alberto crashed his #38 Dick Johnson Racing Mustang at The Dipper, prompting Race Control to end the practice session early.

Despite the incidents, Cooper Murray demonstrated strong form for Erebus Motorsport, recording the two fastest laps of the session in the #99 Chevrolet with a benchmark time of 2m04.7122s.
