Ryan Yates accused of stalking and exposing himself to schoolgirls

Ryan Yates, a 25-year-old convicted child sex offender, has been arrested and charged following allegations of stalking and exposing himself to three 10-year-old girls in Maryland.

Prosecutors allege the incident occurred on October 16 around 3:45 p.m. as the girls were getting off a school bus. Yates is accused of wilful and obscene exposure near a public place or school, stalking, loitering as a convicted child sex offender, failing to comply with child protection register obligations, and negligent driving. The incident reportedly led to a pursuit by the girls' fathers, during which Yates crashed his vehicle.

Yates was previously sentenced to a maximum of two years in jail for recording women in toilets at the University of Newcastle, using AI to create child abuse material, and soliciting pictures from an underage girl. He had been released on a Commonwealth recognizance order in July, less than three months before these new alleged offences.
