Ryanair clarifies middle seat armrest policy
Ryanair has addressed a long-standing debate regarding airplane seating etiquette by clarifying its stance on armrests. The low-cost carrier stated on social media that passengers in the middle seat have the right to use both armrests.
The airline's reasoning is that window and aisle passengers already possess specific advantages: window passengers have access to views and can lean against the cabin wall, while aisle passengers benefit from easier movement and legroom. Consequently, the middle seat is designated both armrests as a form of compensation for the lack of these benefits.
