Ryanair Flight Declares Emergency After Birmingham Takeoff

A Ryanair service (flight FR661) bound for Dublin declared a medical emergency shortly after departing Birmingham Airport on 26 July 2026. The crew transmitted the 7700 squawk code, signalling a general emergency, when the aircraft was about 8,000 feet over the Irish Sea.

The plane was granted priority landing clearance and safely touched down on runway 28L at Dublin Airport about 40 minutes after take‑off. Emergency response teams were on standby and attended to the aircraft upon arrival.

The incident involved no injuries beyond the reported medical issue on board, and the flight concluded without further incident.
