Ryanair passenger Caitlin Anderson fined after disruptive flight at Newcastle Airport
Caitlin Anderson, a 25‑year‑old customer‑service administrator from Glasgow, caused a disturbance on a Ryanair flight on 10 July 2026 by pulling out her own hair extensions and confronting another passenger. Crew members reported the behaviour to police, who boarded the aircraft after it landed at Newcastle International Airport. Anderson was taken to hospital over concerns she had consumed a substance, then arrested and later appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.
She pleaded guilty to being disruptive on an aircraft. The court imposed a fine of £1,477, ordered £85 in costs and a £591 victim surcharge. Prosecutor Christopher O'Brien noted her previous conviction and her expressed remorse.
