Ryanair travelers secure free extra space by bypassing middle seats

A 6 ft 9 in (2 m) passenger on a Ryanair flight to Rome was assigned a middle seat but asked staff at the gate for two adjacent seats. The crew identified an empty row, allowing him to sit across the row without paying extra.

Money‑saving expert Jordon Cox shared a separate two‑minute hack: before departure, create a dummy booking for the seats you wish to avoid, freezing them in another passenger’s basket. Then return to your original reservation and select random seat allocation, leaving only aisle or window seats available. The method works only on flights that are not fully booked and costs nothing.

Both approaches demonstrate how Ryanair passengers can obtain more comfortable seating without incurring the airline’s seat‑selection fees.
