Rybnik Reservoir catfish equals world record
During a fishing competition at the Rybnik Reservoir in Poland, a giant catfish measuring 292 centimeters was caught, equaling the existing world record. The catch was made by the fishing team Operation Catfish during the Mikado Cup.
Organizers stated that the fish is the same individual that set the world and Polish record on October 19, 2025. After being measured, the catfish was released back into the reservoir. The event also saw several other large catches, including catfish exceeding 250 and 270 centimeters.
