Ryde hosts Children’s Day Carnival and music festival

Ryde will host several community events this weekend, including the Children’s Day Carnival and the Ticket to Ryde music festival.

The Children’s Day Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, featuring free activities such as costume-making workshops, drumming, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, and a magic show. A carnival parade will take place in Ryde Town Square at 1:30 pm.

Coinciding with the International Scooter Rally, the Ticket to Ryde music festival will return to the Ryde seafront on August 29 and 30. Organized by Jack Up Events in partnership with Ryde Town Council, the two-day event features live performances from various Island bands and DJs, including music styles such as reggae, ska, and 2 Tone. The festival will also host local food traders and a market area, with proceeds supporting the Alzheimer Café Isle of Wight.
