Ryohei Suzuki stars in new JR Central Nara tourism campaign

Actor Ryohei Suzuki is featured in the new ‘Todai-ji edition’ of the ‘Iza Iza Nara’ television commercial campaign launched by JR Central. The campaign, now in its fifth year, aims to promote tourism in Nara.

During the filming, Suzuki revisited Todai-ji, a World Heritage site, and explored the Old Nara Prison, a cultural property with approximately 100 years of history. Suzuki, who holds a first-class World Heritage Test certification, shared reflections on the aesthetic of ‘wabi-sabi’ regarding the Great Buddha and discussed the unique blend of history and modern design found in the Nara Prison Museum.

Suzuki also highlighted the region's culinary appeal, specifically recommending Yamato vegetables and Yamato beef. He encouraged travelers, particularly those in their 30s, to visit Nara to experience its unique atmosphere and historical depth.
