Ryosuke Yamada’s drama ‘Ichigen no Sasshiki’ episode 5 premieres on Japanese TV

The fifth episode of the Sunday drama ‘Ichigen no Sasshiki’, starring Hey! Say! JUMP member Ryosuke Yamada as graduate‑student Nanase Yū, aired on August 2 at 22:30 on Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV. In the episode the plot reveals that Yū’s presumed sister Shion does not actually exist, a revelation delivered by detective Mayu, deepening the series’ mystery.

Ahead of the broadcast, a new still from episode 5 was released, and the series’ cumulative view count on the streaming platform TVer surpassed 14 million. In a separate interview, Yamada discussed his transformation for the role—adopting a darker hairstyle and a more subdued demeanor—and described the drama as a chance to show a different side of himself beyond his idol image. He also mentioned completing his first solo dome tour and his upcoming appearance in NHK’s historical drama ‘Toyotomi Kyōdai!’.
