Ryotaro Ito linked to Sint-Truiden return and Celta de Vigo move

Ryotaro Ito, the 28-year-old Japanese midfielder currently without a club, is reportedly considering a return to his former team, Sint-Truiden (STVV) in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. Local media reports indicate that Ito is expected to undergo a medical examination with STVV within the coming days.

Ito’s recent attempt to join Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship fell through due to an ankle injury discovered during medical testing. He has since been recovering near Sint-Truiden. While a return to STVV is a strong possibility, Spanish La Liga side Celta de Vigo has also expressed interest in the playmaker. Celta de Vigo is reportedly looking for a replacement for club legend Iago Aspas, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Although Ito was a key player for STVV last season, his contract expired in June, making him a free agent. While the medical check with STVV is a significant step, it does not guarantee an immediate permanent transfer.
