Ryotaro Ito joins Real Valladolid in Spain
Japanese midfielder Ryotaro Ito has joined Spanish second-division side Real Valladolid, signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2027. Ito, 28, previously played for Sint-Truiden in Belgium and has experience with clubs such as Urawa Reds and Oita Trinita.
Real Valladolid manager Fran Escriva expressed high expectations for the new signing, describing him as an attacking player who is disciplined, hardworking, and capable of providing solutions in the final third. Escriva noted that Ito's ability to penetrate the penalty area and his proficiency with both feet make him a versatile asset for various tactical systems.
However, the manager cautioned that patience will be required regarding Ito's integration. Having not played competitive matches since May, Ito requires a period of physical adjustment and ankle strengthening to reach full match fitness before making his debut.
