Ry’s Poke Shack expands to Mountain View, California
Ry’s Poke Shack, an Oahu-based business founded by Ryan and Khannie Ching, has expanded to Mountain View, California. The new location opened inside Ava’s Downtown Market on Sept. 3, with a grand opening scheduled for Sept. 25.
Originally started as a food truck on Oahu’s North Shore in 2020, the business has grown to six locations. The brand gained recognition after being featured on Netflix’s ‘Street Food: USA’. Ryan Ching, a former architect, expressed a desire to expand the brand to promote Hawaiian culture and increase Hawaiian ownership within the poke industry.
Unlike the company’s other locations, the Mountain View outpost utilizes a pre-batched preparation method instead of its signature made-to-order ‘fresh toss’ style.
