Ryusei Yokohama and Suzu Hirose attend premiere of ‘Nanu, Hoshi no Gotoku’

Cast members of the upcoming film ‘Nanu, Hoshi no Gotoku’ (As You Like the Stars) gathered in Tokyo for a completed screening event. The film, based on the novel by Yu Nagira and directed by Michihito Fujii, depicts a 15-year journey of two individuals set against the backdrop of the Seto Inland Sea and Tokyo.

Lead actor Ryusei Yokohama expressed his deep connection to the source material, revealing that he personally contacted the author and director to express his desire to play the role of Kai. He noted that the film marks a significant milestone as his final project in his 20s. Yokohama also shared his ambition for the film to become a modern classic, comparing its potential impact to the acclaimed film ‘Crying Out Love in the Center of the World’.

Co-star Suzu Hirose praised the energetic presence of Yoshino Kimura on set, noting that despite the early morning filming hours, Kimura maintained a bright and supportive attitude. Kimura, who plays the mother of one of the protagonists, remarked that the film also serves as a milestone for her, marking her final project in her 40s.
