Ryuta Mine leads qualifying at Boat Race Memorial

Ryuta Mine has secured the top position in the qualifying rounds of the 72nd Boat Race Memorial held at Boat Race Kiryu. By finishing with a top score of 8.33, Mine has advanced to the semi-finals in the pole position for race 11.

Mine is currently pursuing a historic ‘Grand Slam’ by attempting to win all five major SG races: the Boat Race Classic, Boat Race All-Star, Boat Race Memorial, Boat Race Derby, and Grand Prix. If he wins this tournament, he will become the first racer to achieve this feat, which carries a prize of a pure gold ingot valued at approximately 300 million yen.

Regarding his performance and equipment, Mine expressed high confidence, stating, ‘The finish is beyond reproach. I have been able to adapt to the weather conditions. The acceleration is top-tier.’
