Rıza Kara transforms natural waste into root art
Rıza Kara, a retired teacher living in Ankara, has created approximately 750 works of art using natural materials discarded by nature. His journey began in 2006 after his retirement when he perceived a tree in his garden as a dinosaur, sparking an interest in root art.
Kara primarily utilizes juniper and pine wood to craft his pieces, often focusing on bird figures. Despite receiving offers to live and work abroad, he chose to remain in Turkey, stating his desire for his works to stay in his home country so that younger generations can see and be inspired by them.
