Rēzekne to host Miķeļdienas annual harvest market

The Miķeļdienas annual market is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 27, from 10:00 to 15:00 on the historic Latgale Street in Rēzekne. The event features a variety of autumn harvest products, artisan crafts, and local entrepreneur goods.

The festive program includes musical performances by the “Rēzekne” wind instrument orchestra, the “Bumburneicys” chapel, and the “Sveicinām, vēlējam” instrumental ensemble. Various amateur dance and song groups from the region, including Latvian, Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian, and Polish ensembles, will participate in a large concert.

A central tradition of the market is the honoring of cucumbers, with a competition to crown a Cucumber King and Queen and various tastings of pickled, salted, and preserved cucumbers.
