Rēzekne to host StartUP festival for Latvian startup ecosystem

The StartUP festival will take place in Rēzekne on October 9, continuing an initiative to develop the startup ecosystem in the Latgale region of Latvia. The event aims to bring together startup founders, investors, universities, and support organizations from both Latgale and across the country.

The festival program focuses on practical challenges for entrepreneurs, including securing initial investment in the US, utilizing artificial intelligence in company formation, and understanding investor criteria. Discussions will also cover available support and financing instruments in Latvia and Europe, as well as the role of universities in business development and intellectual property.

LIAA Director Ieva Jāgere emphasized that the festival is part of an effort to help ideas from Latgale become viable companies capable of reaching export markets. The event will conclude with the opening of ‘theLAB Rēzekne’ at the RTU Rēzekne Academy, a new space designed for prototyping, experimentation, and innovation development.
