Rzeszow mayor Konrad Fijołek seeks national backing for city projects
Rzeszow Mayor Konrad Fijołek reported a meeting in the Sejm with MP Pawel Kowal to request additional state funding for several municipal initiatives. The discussion covered extra resources for the Podkarpackie Centre of Light Athletics, construction of a new fire‑brigade station in Rzeszów‑Słocina, a shelter on the Budziwój estate, and a range of road‑improvement works.
Following the mayor’s post, residents raised questions about local priorities, asking whether the Zawiszy neighbourhood would be included in road upgrades, when a new surface on ul. Olbrachta would be laid, and when a railway underpass in Zawiszy would be built. Other comments focused on investment needs in Wilkowyja and additional street renovations. Fijołek emphasized that the talks aim to translate into concrete results for the city’s safety, sport facilities, and infrastructure.
