Răzvan Lucescu rejects coaching offers from Saudi Pro League rivals

Răzvan Lucescu, the 57-year-old head coach of Al Sadd, has stated he will never coach any team in Saudi Arabia other than Al Hilal. The Romanian technician made these remarks following a 2-0 defeat by Al Hilal in the AFC Champions League.

Lucescu, who led Al Hilal to three major trophies including the AFC Champions League in 2019, emphasized his deep emotional connection to the club. He noted that despite the massive financial offers from other prominent Saudi Pro League teams such as Al Nassr, Al-Ittihad, or Al-Ahli, he would refuse them all.

“It is impossible for me to work in Saudi Arabia at another team, apart from Al-Hilal,” Lucescu said, adding that his “soul remained at Al-Hilal,” where he experienced one of the most significant stages of his coaching career.
