Răzvan Lucescu’s future at PAOK questioned as Greek football voices urge his exit
Greek former international Panagiotis Tsalouchidis publicly told Romanian coach Răzvan Lucescu that staying at PAOK would be “disrespectful” and urged him to leave the Thessaloniki club. Tsalouchidis suggested the club is already looking for a replacement and warned that the relationship should end on good terms.
Lucescu, however, reaffirmed his intention to remain, noting he has one year left on his contract and has turned down offers from abroad, including a reported approach from Qatar’s Al Sadd. Greek journalist Vasilis Sambrakos reported that PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis is set to meet Lucescu soon to decide the coach’s fate, with the Spanish manager Juan Carlos Carcedo mentioned as a possible successor if a split occurs.
The discussions reflect ongoing speculation about whether Lucescu will continue at PAOK for the upcoming season or depart amid pressure from Greek football figures.
