S. Jaishankar condemns use of terrorism as statecraft
Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that using terrorism as an “instrument of statecraft” is unacceptable and can never be justified or rationalized. Speaking at an event marking the 75th anniversary of the Chinmaya Mission, Jaishankar noted that such practices persist because some states do not demonstrate zero tolerance, allowing political calculations to take precedence over historical lessons.
Highlighting the indivisibility of peace, the minister remarked that “war anywhere threatens peace everywhere,” citing ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia. He emphasized that India advocates for dialogue and diplomacy as the primary solutions to global instability and called for a stronger, unified global resolve to counter terrorism in all its forms.
