S19 expressway viaduct ES-24 reaches construction milestone in Żarnowa

Construction of the S19 Babica - Jawornik expressway has reached a significant milestone with the completion of the concrete pouring for the ES-24 viaduct in Żarnowa. The structure, built by Intercor Sp. z o. o., is the second-largest engineering object on this section of the road.

The viaduct spans nearly 460 meters in length and is supported by five pillars, the tallest of which reaches almost 30 meters. The construction utilized approximately 22,512 cubic meters of concrete and over 3.6 million kilograms of reinforcing steel. The structure consists of two independent load-bearing systems designed for traffic moving in opposite directions.

Due to the terrain and the height of the supports, engineers employed the cantilever method. This technology allows for the gradual construction of segments without the need for ground-level scaffolding. Following the completion of the load-bearing structure, the next phase of work will involve installing the object's equipment.
