S4C football gameshow Tekkers returns with new knockout format

The S4C football gameshow Tekkers returns for its third series with a new installment titled ‘Tekkers: Cwpan Cymru’. Airing on the children’s service Stwnsh, the series features 16 primary schools from across Wales competing in a new knockout format.

Teams from various locations, including Prestatyn, Penarth, Aberaeron, and Cross Keys, will compete for the title of the first-ever Tekkers: Cwpan Cymru champions. The top four scorers from the opening round will advance to the semi-finals, with the winners meeting in a Grand Final.

Presenters Heledd Anna, Lloyd Lewis, and Huw Owen will lead the participants through football-themed challenges, such as dribbling, shooting, and a goalkeeping task involving zorbs. The semi-finals are scheduled for October 30, followed by the grand final on November 13. A special festive edition will also air during the Christmas period.
