S6 expressway accident causes major traffic delays near Vienna

A multi-vehicle accident involving five cars occurred on the S6 expressway in the direction of Vienna on Sunday evening. The collision took place near a construction site, leading to a temporary full closure of the lane and significant traffic congestion during the return travel period.

Emergency responders reported that three people were injured, including one child. The intervention lasted over three hours, concluding around 10:00 PM after emergency services cleared spilled fluids and restored road usability. Responding agencies included the fire department, Red Cross, emergency doctors, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, ASFINAG, and the highway police.
