Sa Dec D2 road project delayed until late 2026

The D2 road project in Sa Dec, Dong Thap province, is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2026. The project, which connects Nguyen Sinh Sac Street with Dao Duy Tu Street, has faced a one-year delay due to difficulties in land clearance.

With a total investment of over 337 billion VND, the project is divided into two construction packages. While the second package is already complete and open, the first package—covering a 1.1km stretch—remains unfinished. Currently, progress on the first package has reached nearly 90%, but work is stalled at the intersection with Nguyen Sinh Sac Street because three households have not yet handed over their land. Authorities have approved land recovery decisions for these cases, and contractors aim to complete the package by the end of this year once the site is handed over.
