Sa Kaeo to host Thailand’s first art project for peace and security

Five major organizations have launched the ‘Artistic Project to Communicate Peaceful Dharma and Strengthen National Security,’ a first-of-its-kind initiative in Thailand located in Sa Kaeo province. The project aims to use public art as a strategic tool to promote peace, social harmony, and national stability.

The collaboration includes the Joint Information Center on the Thailand – Cambodia Situation (JIC), the Ministry of Culture, the Thai Media Fund, Silpakorn University, and the Foundation for Continuing the Father’s Legacy. The initiative consists of two sub-projects: the ‘King Bhumibol Street Art: Peaceful Dharma Under His Majesty’s Grace’ and the ‘Art 4 Peace’ project.

Working groups are surveying potential sites for public art installations, including the Sa Kaeo Post Office, Municipal School 1 (Nong Kapho Anusorn), areas near Wat Sa Kaeo Kindergarten, and Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University (Sa Kaeo Center). The ultimate goal is to create public cultural landmarks that foster trust and understanding between citizens and various sectors through shared creative processes.
