SA20 League celebrates five-year milestone

The SA20 League has reached its five-year milestone, marking its progress since the inaugural tournament held at Newlands on January 10, 2023. League Commissioner Graeme Smith described the anniversary as a moment of pride and emphasized a commitment to growth and innovation leading toward the 2027 edition.

Over its first four seasons, the league has sold more than 1.6 million tickets, attracted over 500 million television viewers, and established a social media following of four million. Smith credited the league's success to the collective support of its six franchises, players, partners, and fans.

In terms of competition, Sunrisers Eastern Cape has been the most successful franchise, winning titles in 2023, 2024, and 2026. MI Cape Town secured the championship in 2025. The upcoming fifth season is expected to feature prominent South African and international players.
