SA20 Season 5 auction player registration opens

Player registration for the SA20 Season 5 auction is now open, running from August 24 until September 14, 2026. The auction is scheduled to take place on October 7, 2026. Players who register will also be eligible to serve as replacement players during the tournament if required by any franchise.

Currently, 19 squad slots remain to be filled across four franchises. Durban's Super Giants and Paarl Royals have already completed their 19-player rosters. Among the remaining teams, Joburg Super Kings and MI Cape Town each need to fill six slots, including one Under-23 player. Pretoria Capitals require five players, while the defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, need only two more to complete their roster.

Financial outlooks for the remaining teams vary significantly. Joburg Super Kings hold the largest remaining salary cap at USD 1.29 million, followed by MI Cape Town with USD 580,000. Sunrisers Eastern Cape has USD 223,000 available, while Pretoria Capitals have USD 91,500 remaining.
