Saab leads gains on Stockholm Stock Exchange as market rises
The Stockholm Stock Exchange edged higher on Thursday, with the OMXS30 index up 0.4% to 3,195. Defense contractor Saab was the top performer, climbing 4.3% after Handelsbanken raised its recommendation to "hold" from "sell," citing expectations of a strong second quarter. Bearing‑company SKF also posted a 4.0% gain following the launch of a joint venture in China to supply high‑precision robot components. Volvo Cars added 3.4% despite reporting a 5.6% drop in Q2 sales, while confectionery group Cloetta rose 6% after announcing plans to sell Swedish bulk candy in the U.S. chain De Cicco & Sons. Viaplay’s Dutch TV and streaming business was sold to Videoland for €142 million, lifting its shares 2.6%. Various other stocks moved lower, including technology firm Sivers, which fell 11%.
