Saadet Party holds '3Y' protest in Trabzon over poverty and corruption

The Saadet Party Ortahisar District Presidency held a protest march and press conference in Trabzon to highlight issues of poverty, corruption, and bans, which they termed the '3Y Empire.' The demonstration featured symbolic performances, including representations of journalists and citizens behind iron bars and shopping baskets containing only bread and onions.

During the press conference at Meydan Park, District President Burak Turhan criticized the current administration's policies. He noted that while the '3Y' slogan was originally used by the AK Party to promise a fight against these issues, they have now become the defining realities of the country.

Citing August 2026 research from TÜRK-İŞ, Turhan provided economic figures stating that the hunger limit for a family of four has reached 37,388 TL, while the poverty limit stands at 121,786 TL. He emphasized the growing difficulty for workers, retirees, and youth to meet basic needs.
