Saadet Party opposes Lake Hazar land transfers in Elazığ

The Saadet Party Elazığ Provincial Presidency has expressed opposition to the transfer of public properties located on the shores of Lake Hazar in the Sivrice district. The properties, identified as block 389, parcels 2 and 3, are currently owned by the Elazığ Municipality and are being transferred to the Elazığ Special Provincial Administration for the purpose of tourism development.

While the party stated it supports the development of Lake Hazar’s tourism potential, it cautioned against the removal of public lands from citizen use. Party official Yunus Emre Yüksel emphasized that the area has been used by the public for lake access and coastal use for many years. The party is calling for transparency regarding the transfer and allocation process to ensure that these lands are not used for the private interests of individuals or companies at the expense of public benefit.
