Saadet Party urges Van election candidates to tackle unemployment

The Saadet Party Van Provincial Presidency has issued a call to candidates for the upcoming Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections to present concrete projects addressing the city's rising unemployment. The party emphasized that candidates should focus on solving fundamental economic issues rather than just the election process.

According to Özay İlhan, the Saadet Party Van Provincial Chairman, the unemployment rate in Van has reached 13%, with youth unemployment hitting 20%. These figures significantly exceed the national averages of 8.3% and 15.5%, respectively. İlhan warned that the lack of investment and vision is forcing educated young people to migrate to western provinces to find work, resulting in a loss of human capital.

The party proposed the implementation of a ‘Regional Incentive and Employment Model’ to address the crisis. They highlighted the need to support sectors with high potential, such as agriculture, livestock, tourism, logistics, and border trade, while calling for increased industrial investment and the reduction of bureaucratic obstacles for investors.
